2. Newsletter subscriptions

When you actively tick the marketing-consent box and subscribe, we use your email address to send occasional news, offers, new-location announcements and car-care updates.

What we keep

• Your normalised, lowercase email address and subscription status.
• The consent wording version, UTC consent time and signup source.
• Creation and update times and welcome-email delivery status.
• A one-way hash of a random unsubscribe token. While a welcome email is awaiting delivery, an encrypted copy is retained only so retries use the same valid link; it is removed after delivery is confirmed or retries stop.

The legal basis is your consent. Submitting the form again does not disclose whether an address was already subscribed. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in a Steamit email or contacting us.

3. Contact enquiries

If you send a website message, we use your name, email address, optional phone number, enquiry type, message and privacy acknowledgement to understand and respond to your request.

The website sends the message securely to our operational email inbox. It does not intentionally keep a separate permanent database of contact messages. Our email provider and operational inbox may retain the message under the business’s normal correspondence practices.

Depending on your request, the legal basis is taking steps at your request before a service or contract, or our legitimate interest in answering genuine enquiries and running the business. Privacy requests are handled to meet our legal obligations.

4. Technical data and cookies

This public website does not install analytics, advertising pixels or non-essential tracking cookies. We do not use your contact or newsletter details for behavioural advertising.

Our hosting environment may process limited technical information such as IP address, request time, requested page, browser information and security events so the site can be delivered and protected. Rate-limiting records are short-lived and are used to prevent spam and abuse.

The Steamit mobile app is a separate service and may have its own privacy information within the app or relevant app store.

5. Sharing and security

We do not sell personal information. Necessary service providers, such as our website host and authenticated email provider, may process limited data on our behalf to operate the website and deliver email.

We use access controls, encrypted connections where supported, input validation, anti-spam checks and data minimisation. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we design the website to collect and expose as little personal data as practical.

If a provider processes information outside the European Economic Area, Steamit should confirm that an appropriate legal transfer safeguard is in place before production use.

6. How long we keep data

Active newsletter details are kept while you remain subscribed. After unsubscribing, a limited suppression record may be retained where necessary to respect your choice and demonstrate consent history. Contact correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, service, legal or accounting purpose involved.

Exact operational retention periods must be confirmed in the owner’s final data-retention schedule before launch.

7. Your rights

Under applicable EU and Cyprus data-protection law, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You can also raise a concern with the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.

8. Children and policy changes

This website is intended for people arranging or enquiring about vehicle services and is not directed to children. We may update this policy if the website, our providers or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will show the latest revision.
